How does the SMS alert message option works?
The option enables you to receive SMS messages on detected lightings and severe weather alerts issued for the selected location. The system is based on the same principle as the notifying system which uses e-mail messages. With the use of the form you can select a location, which will be than monitored round the clock. This option uses pre-paid SMS gateway and, therefore, it is available only for the registered users who are signed up for an account on the SMS gateway provider’s website.
What does the alert message contain?
The content of the message – apart from the basic information about the monitored location – consist of information on the number of lightnings and distance to the nearest discharge (including the direction from the location to the nearest discharge). The notifications on severe weather conditions (such as: intense frost/heat, heavy rainfall or snowfall, strong wind, storms and/or tornados) contain a short description of hazard. It has to be noted, however, that information on lightnings (both published on the website and sent in message) is an approximated data. These information might be inaccurate or incomplete. For that reason the warning system might not respond in time.
Is notifying via SMS for free?

For the recharge value of 10 PLN, user receives from 74 to 125 SMS messages at his or her disposal (depends on the type of chosen SMS gateway and message type) which can be spent on notifications, activation and for purposes other than managing the website (data from August 22, 2016). The information above is not a commercial offer. All problems concerning payments shall be discussed with the provider of SMS gateway.
What is the difference between standard and economic SMS messages sent from SMS gateway belonging to gsmservice.pl?
Severe weather alerts sent via SMS standard and economic messages are identical. The type of these SMS messages is recognized by the GSM service provider who sets the priority of sending of the messages and their delivering. The economic option is cheaper, however it has a lower priority level for the provider and may be delivered with a slight delay. The delay may even stretch up to few dozens of minutes. The standard option, on the contrary, causes no delays but the service is more expensive. The price of messages sent from burze.dzis.net is lower than the one offered by the provider thanks to courtesy of GSMService.pl. Every user can change the type of message with the use of configuration panel. Every user can examine his or her provider’s network capacity and speed at which the economic-type messages are sent basing on the time given in the message.
